Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali Airport and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You arrive at Kigali international airport where you will meet and greet with your driver/guide who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park (approx. 2 hours north of Kigali). Dinner and overnight at the lodge of your choice.
Depending on time of arrival, you can explore Kigali attractions such as genocide memorial, craft markets before you transfer to Volcanoes.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Iby’iwachu Cultural Village Tour

After breakfast, transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking rules. Enter the jungle to search for Mountain Gorillas; spend 1 hour with them. In the afternoon, visit Iby’iwacu local village to learn Rwandan culture, customs, and traditions, ending with traditional dance performances. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and Fly to Arusha/Ngorongoro (Tanzania)

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali Airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport (Tanzania), then a 3-hour transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check in for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Full Day Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Explore Ngorongoro crater from 6am with a ranger. Spot the Big Five and other wildlife, visit Lake Magadi for flamingos and hippos. Lunch break, then continue game viewing. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. En route, visit the UNESCO heritage site Oduvai Gorge to learn about human evolution. Continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full Day Serengeti

Enjoy wildlife viewing in Serengeti: lions, elephants, wildebeest, gazelles, buffalo, zebras, and more. Morning and afternoon game drives. Optional hot air balloon safari. Lunch at camp, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive 2 hours from Serengeti to Tarangire National Park, home to 3,000 elephants. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 8: Departure at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Early morning game drive, then transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight home.
