3 Days Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park

On this 3-day gorilla trekking safari in Kahuzi-Biega National Park, you will venture into the remote Bukavu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kahuzi-Biega is home to the largest population of Eastern Lowland Gorillas, which are rare and critically endangered apes. This tour gives visitors high chances of seeing them and includes a boat cruise on Lake Kivu.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu (Kahuzi-Biega National Park)

Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali in the morning. You will be driven approximately 4 hours to Kahuzi-Biega National Park, with stopovers at the Butare National Museum of Rwanda and the King's Palace in Nyanza. You will check into your lodge, and the rest of the evening is free to relax.

Dinner and overnight: Orchid Safari Lodge / Hotel Horizon

Day 2: Eastern Lowland Gorilla Tracking and Nature Walk

After an early breakfast, you are set for lowland gorilla tracking. With a 99% chance of seeing them, you will be guided through the forest to spend one hour with these wonderful apes before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk to spot more wildlife, such as birds and other primates, and explore the Tshibati waterfalls. You will return for dinner with unforgettable memories.

Day 3: Return to Kigali

Have breakfast, then check out of the lodge. Your guide will take you back to Kigali. You may do a short city tour and some shopping before being transferred to the airport or another location.
