Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

You will be picked up by your guide from Kampala or Entebbe and set off for Kibale Forest, the primate capital of the world. Travel via Mubende, stopping in Fort Portal for lunch. Before reaching your lodge, enjoy a hike to the top of the world, circling beautiful crater lakes and enjoying sunset views of the Rift Valley. Check in to rest at Ndali Lodge or Turacco Top Lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland

After breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu Visitor Center for a briefing on chimp tracking. Guided forest walk to see and photograph chimpanzees and other primates. After lunch, enjoy a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland, searching for birds, primates, and plants.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Boat Cruise

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive for lunch, then take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see hippos, Nile crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. Overnight at Elephant Plains Lodge, Twin Lakes Lodge, or Park View Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi

Morning game drive to spot elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, topi, and warthogs. After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha, where you may spot tree-climbing lions. Arrive early to rest for gorilla tracking. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs, or Haven Gorilla Lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking & Village Walk

Early breakfast, then head to the gorilla center for a briefing. Guided trek to see gorillas for one hour. Return to lodge for lunch. Optional evening community walk. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, a beautiful lake with 19 islands. Enjoy a boat cruise, learn about the history of Punishment Island, see zebras at Governors Island, and visit a local school. Free time for swimming. Overnight at Bird Nest or Accadia Lodge.

Day 7: Departure

Depart Lake Bunyonyi in the morning, transferring to Kampala or Kigali for your flight home.
