8 Days Kenya Migration Safari

This 8-day Kenya migration safari starts with a visit to Samburu National Reserve, where you will have a full day of game drives. The safari will proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, famously known for its birdlife, especially the flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake. The safari will end in the beautiful Maasai Mara National Reserve, well known for its bountiful wildlife and the great migration that happens between Maasai Mara and the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. On this safari, look out for the Big 5 (lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard, and rhino) and other game like zebras, wildebeest, olive baboons, warthogs, and antelopes.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Your safari begins today with your arrival in Nairobi at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

Drive time: 6.5 hours | Flight time: 1.5 hours

Wake up and have a hearty breakfast at your lodge before transferring to Samburu National Reserve. On arrival, have lunch and go on an afternoon game drive. Look out for the African leopard, giraffes, lions, elephants, cape buffaloes, impalas, waterbucks, warthogs, Grant’s gazelle, and olive baboons.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy a full day of game drives in Samburu National Reserve, giving you the opportunity to look for wildlife such as the Big 5, zebras, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and giraffes, along with beautiful landscapes and rare bird species.

Day 4 & 5: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

Drive time: 6 hours | Flight time: 25 minutes

After an early breakfast, transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park, a beautiful wildlife haven known for its thousands of flamingos. You will have a short stopover at Thompson’s Falls for photos before continuing towards the Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru is regarded as a “Birdwatcher’s Paradise” and is home to both black and white rhinos and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.

Day 6: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Drive time: 6 hours | Flight time: 45 minutes

After breakfast, you will drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve. The journey will take you through the vast landscape of Kenya as you drive down the escarpment via Narok. After a delicious lunch, head out for an introductory evening game drive.

Day 7: Maasai Mara National Reserve Game Drive

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the famous Maasai Mara. You will carry a packed lunch and head out into the reserve to see large herds of lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, Thomson’s gazelles, wildebeest, and buffaloes.

Day 8: Transfer from Maasai Mara to Nairobi

Today marks the end of your amazing Kenya Safari. You will have breakfast and then drive back to Nairobi, arriving in time for lunch before being transferred to the airport for your flight out.
