Khuzi Biega is home to largest population of Eastern lowland Gorillas which are rare and critically endangered apes. This place gives visitors high chances of seeing lowland gorillas. Your lowland Gorilla tracking experience includes a boat cruise on Lake Kivu.
Detailed Itinerary for 3 days Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi national park Congo safari
Day 1: transfer from Kigali to Bukavu Kahuzi Biega national park
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali in the morning. You will be driven approximately 4 hours to Kahuzi Biega national park. Enjoy stopovers along the way at Butare national museum of Rwanda and king’s palace and nyanza kacukiro memorial wall. You will check in your lodge and the rest of the evening is free to relax. Dinner and overnight at Orchid safari lodge/ Hotel Horizon
Day 2 Eastern lowland tracking and nature walk
Breakfast early morning and you are set for lowland gorilla tracking. Kahuzi biega has the highest population of lowland gorillas and chances of seeing them are 99%. So you will be guided through the forest t spend 1 hour with these wonderful apes, returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk to spot more wildlife such as birds, primates and you will explore Tshibati waterfalls. You will return back for dinner with unforgettable memories.
Day 3: return back to Kigali
Have breakfast then check out of the lodge and your guide will take you back to Kigali. You may do a short city tour and do shopping before being transferred to the airport or any other place.
